The STUDIO members have backgrounds in landscape architecture, urban design, architecture, civil engineering, biology, sociology and water management, and work together on contemporary aspects of urban landscapes.

In their work at universities and in design practices, the members develop and execute design projects that blur the boundaries between teaching, research and practice. STUDIO teams are formed depending on the respective topic under investigation.

STUDIO URBAN LANDSCAPES does not carry out work in its own right. Instead, members of the network form project teams to address the specific topic from a trans-disciplinary perspective. The project contractor is typically a university, private practice or a temporary work partnership between STUDIO members.
